Does this sound like you?
CARRYING TOO MUCH
You’re the “glue” of your family or friend group. You struggle to set boundaries and prioritize your needs. And you might not even know what they are. You are striving for perfection, but never feeling good enough.
CAUGHT IN THE CYCLE
Overthinking. Fear. Avoiding things that you want to do because you don’t have the capacity. Ruminating and catastrophizing about everything that could possibly go wrong.
BURNT OUT
You keep on going, despite the deep need for rest and grounding. Your nervous system is on fire and you desperately want to feel grounded and centered. You want clarity.
What is therapy like?
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
I work with adults in an individual modality. While I’ve worked with men, women, adolescents and children, I currently work exclusively with women. I use a secure, HIPAA compliant telehealth platform for therapy sessions. I strive to create a safe space where we can unpack past experiences, navigate current stressors, and identify goals for your future. I use a blend of psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, somatic work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I adapt to what you need: whether that is holding safe, silent space with you; challenging you from a compassionate stance; or sharing a moment of dark humor.
THERAPY IS A SAFE SPACE
In this space, nothing is off-limits. We can explore your personal world: your struggles, trauma, family, work and aspirations. If applicable, we will also discuss how systemic factors like racism, the patriarchy, chronic illnesses, socioeconomic status and your experiences have shaped who you are today. This is a safe space for womxn who are part of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
I am also a sex-positive clinician, meaning we can openly discuss sex, intimacy, and your relationship with yourself as a sexual being.
TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE
I’ve worked with survivors of abuse and trauma for over a decade. I have specific training about domestic violence and sexual abuse. I take your trauma history into account when making clinical decisions and navigating difficult topics. My trauma lens is always on and I do my best to support you as the survivor you are.
Health At Every Size Philosophy
Health At Every Size (HAES) is a philosophy developed by Association for Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH), that emphasizes weight inclusivity, respectful care, health enhancement, eating for well-being and the belief that health doesn’t have a specific size. Whenever applicable, I will weave HAES into our sessions. We may discuss the implications of diet culture on mental health; intuitive eating; joyful movement; or systemic, cultural and internalized fatphobia.
As a plus-size woman I have lived experience in this realm as well.

How it works
BRINGING YOU BACK TO BALANCE
Hey! I’m Kendall (She/her)
I’ve been working in the mental health field since 2016. I’ve worked at Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy agencies, residential substance abuse programs, elementary schools, group therapy settings, outpatient therapy and finally private practice. I’ve worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, addiction and more.
I opened my private practice, Kendall Ceban, LMHC, LLC in 2020 and have had the privilege of treating women of all ages, demographics and needs. Having worked with folks in person as well as via telehealth, I transitioned my practice to a fully telehealth practice in 2024.
I am licensed in the following states: Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine.
If you are looking for a therapist who is a direct, “No BS” therapist that uses tough love, then I’m probably not your cup of tea. But, if you’re looking for a therapist who is quirky, sarcastic, always in your corner, and someone who will validate your feelings while gently pushing you to examine your choices? I’m your therapist.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
First session, we will go over your intake assessment form, I will ask you a LOT of questions, I will answer any questions you have, and we will talk about treatment goals.
-
That’s great! Whether brand new to therapy or a seasoned veteran, there’s room for you on my caseload. There’s not really a “right” or “wrong” way to do therapy. As long as you show up and engage in the session, you’re doing it!
-
Absolutely. Many people find such benefit in therapy when navigating difficult moments and emotions. We will identify patterns, clarify strategies that work for you, and hold space for the feelings that are hard to hold.
Because we will be talking about stressful or difficult topics, it’s not uncommon to feel an uptic in anxiety, depression or being more emotional after certain sessions. This is normal and a part of the treatment process.
In the long term, the goal is for your baseline (how high or low) anxiety and/or depression to become more manageable and less negatively impactful on your functioning and happiness.

I use the secure platform “Sessions” to conduct telehealth sessions. I use the same link for every session. You simply click the link from your reminder email or text and the browser will open up. You can also download the free app.
As telehealth uses technology, there are possible issues that may arise, including: lost Wi-fi connection, lagging/delay, power outages. I make every effort to minimize this.
